Discover 29 Fresh Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Featuring a Commander Deck!)
Everyone's favorite pizza-loving superheroes are coming to the popular trading card game. The well-known trading card game's company, the game's creators, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a special panel hosted at NYCC. Could this be a exciting addition or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? We'll let you be the judge.
Take a look below at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with key context. Everything mentioned here releases on March 6, 2026, with one exception — the Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27th.
MTG x TMNT: Main Set Reveals
Before we get into the many unique products and collections available, let’s take a look at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by the developers. Standard booster packs for the expansion are priced at $6.99 each, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per pack.
Let's unpack a few surprising details. To begin, there's a new mechanic named Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, in which players can play powerful creatures into the game field whenever an attacking creature goes unblocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can affect non-creature spells too. The designers also used this chance to refine the ability a little (It counts as playing a spell, unlike Ninjutsu). The original ability isn't going away, but it's more likely players will encounter Sneak in future sets moving forward.
“If we ever go back to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use the original ability since that plane is it originated and it is iconic of that world,” an experienced designer stated. “But on other planes, since the rules are cleaner and the new ability is what's going to be in standard, it's more likely that we'd use Sneak.”
That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is one of four cards with special art designed specifically for the set by TMNT co-creator the co-creator.
Oh, and, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards that aren't in your deck, so was I. But according to the developers, it’s now a official card in every format of Magic.
Anyway, here are the highly unusual land cards with full art from this set:
As per Wizards of the Coast's current policy, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers state they were careful to ensure the new cards and gameplay elements meshed well with current Standard expansions like Edge of Eternities.
“I led the design for over a year and we were aware it would be in standard and what other sets were going to be near it in Standard,” a lead designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that they work well with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”
For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype built around artifacts.
“They combine to provide the components for a fun Standard-legal deck,” the designer added.
Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!
After declining to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it does come with six different legendary cards that can serve as your commander based on how you pair them (five of the cards include a unique partner ability called “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command zone instead of just one). Check them out below:
The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, although the price may rise based on popularity. Sources indicated that it includes 43 new cards altogether, which translates to an extra 37 TMNT-themed game cards besides the six legendary commanders shown earlier. (Doing some rough math, this suggests about 20 reprints if we estimate the precon comes with 37 lands.)
How will the Turtles edition of the iconic Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and see.

Wizards revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza. In total, there are six different pizza promos available.

Turtle Team-Up
Finally, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to develop Magic game products specifically for new players. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend team up to face a “Boss” deck that plays automatically.
The concept here that each Boss card gives special abilities to the creature cards included in the boss deck. Each Boss automatically plays one other card per turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
